Our Current Needs
This is a list of our current needs at the Home of Hope facilities in China. We try not to saturate our web site with needs and requests for financial help but over time we have learned that many of our viewers and supporters like to afford financial help on occasion so we feel it necessary to present our needs. On this page we will be listing the needs of both the Gongyi Home of Hope and also the XuZhou Home of Hope and will keep it updated as the situations change and/or the needs are met! When we open Home of Hope Number Three and subsequent locations we will add them and their needs to this page.
The Home of Hope Orphanages - China operate without any governmental assistance what so ever. Nor has the organization ever received any funding from the general Chinese society. Our sole means of operational support is individual donations from Western countries. We appreciate those who are willing to sacrifice each month to keep the “Hope Burning” for these lovely children!
Gongyi Home of Hope #1 - Gongyi, China
- Funds to pay for the needed surgeries for Dawn, Charity and Mathew. The breakdown of the individual projected costs (from our doctor in Beijing) is:
- Dawn $1,500.00
- Charity $1,500.00
- Mathew $2,600.00
- Monthly support for eleven children at $95.00 per month. If a person should wish to help financially but cannot manage the full amount, any amount will go along way to supporting a child.
- High School and College in China requires tuition. We currently have seven of the children who came to the Home of Hope our first year of operation now attending university. We have managed to negotiate them into college but we are still faced with a remaining financial obligation of $ 1,400.00 as of March 31, 2008. Our 2007-2008 High School costs have been covered.
Xuzhou Home of Hope #2 - Xuzhou, China
- Monthly support for ten of our children at $95.00 per month.
- A school bus to take our 22 school age children back and forth to school everyday. Current price for a new bus is $22,000.00
- A boiler system for heating and hot water. We currently use space heaters and electric water heaters which is most inefficient for a facility our size. The cost of a boiler system is $32,000.00 We have a commitment of $20,000.00 from one party to be donated when the balance of $12,000.00 is raised. Please help.
- We are ready to complete our play ground and exercise yard and we are looking at a cost of $15,000.00 for that project.
